Arsenic Condensation and Reaction Mechanisms in Flash Smelting Off-Gas Line Conditions

چکیده

Abstract Arsenic is a common impurity element in sulfide concentrates. It tends to accumulate the flue dust of smelting furnace due volatility and internal circulation practiced smelting-converting process chain. The only outlets for arsenic are anodes discard slag. condensation dust-free conditions was studied below 800 °C where gas atmosphere controlled by SO 2 -air-N mixtures. Based on these experimental results, we confirm kinetically constrained formation mechanism arsenic-containing dust, its speciation into metallic, oxidic (III, V), sulfidic species. influences temperature were compared with industrial data discussed. Graphical Condensed arsenic‐bearing particles collected electrophoretic forces surface fused SiO ‐O atmospheres: crystal morphology shows euhedrally facetted As O 3 crystals initially molten As‐OS alloy droplets together poorly crystallized AsS x particles.

FAILURE MECHANISMS OF REFRACTORY LININGS FOR NONFERROUS FLASH SMELTING FURNACES

Although the flash smelting technologies use different furnace designs, the refractory linings are exposed to very similar aggressive environments and, as a result, the corrosion analysis results on one type of furnace could be generally applied to other furnaces of similar high temperature processes. Particularities regarding the different chemistries of the pyrometallurgical process and opera...

In-situ Observation of Nano-particulate Gold Catalysts under Reaction Gas and Non-reaction Gas Conditions

Gold exhibits catalytic activity when it is in the form of fine particles having a size of less than 10 nm and is tightly supported on specific metal oxides such as TiO2, etc [1]. To reveal its mechanism, dynamic observation of the sample structures during the reaction by the transmission electron microscope (TEM) is quite essential. “Environmental-cell (E-cell) TEM” technique [2], which enable...

Recirculation of Chilean Copper Smelting Dust with High Arsenic Content to the Smelting Process

Most of the dust generated from the copper smelting process in Chili has been stored after the stabilization by hydrometallurgical process because it contains high concentration of arsenic. However, in recent years, the generation of dust has increased because of degrading the quality of concentrate. In addition, the environmental regulations become stricter. On the other hand, valuable metals ...
